Experience: Bianca grew up in a small town in Austria and is currently living in Vienna, yet on the move to Portugal. Bianca has been travelling the past few years through Bali, England, Germany and Austria. She has worked in various capacities and lived in Berlin for 7 years before that, so her German is accent-free, and her German is clear and easy to understand. Bianca holds a Master’s degree in Educational Science and a Bachelor’s degree in Romance Studies (Spanish, Italian). She lived in Kent, England, for a year after finishing university and fell in love with the country and the English language. She enjoyed languages from a young age that have always come easy to her as she has a natural affinity. Bianca has been offering German classes to kids and adults, focusing on conversations. It is delightful for her and her students alike to have philosophical and otherwise deep conversations. Kids enjoy their classes with Bianca because she is fun and easy to relate to, personalizes every lesson and shows great flexibility with her younger students’ changing needs and capacities.

Experience: I studied International Business in the Netherlands and worked in the banking industry in different countries for many years. In 2015 I decided to change careers and became a diving instructor enabling me to travel the world. I also discovered my passion for teaching and therefore started offering German classes in person and online to adults and children. It is important to me that my classes are engaging, interactive and fun, but also challenging. Therefore, I adapt each lesson to the individual needs and interests of my students. I am patient, motivated and ready to support my students on this journey of learning German.

Experience: Several years of experience working as an online German teacher and freelance translator. Born in Munich, Gesa now lives with her international family in southern Spain, where her children are growing up speaking 5 languages. Thanks to her versatile professional experiences, her personal life history and her family situation, she has gained significant insight into successful ways of learning foreign languages and into various didactic methods.

Experience: I believe, that all cross-cultural journeys should be accompanied by curiosity, respect and …fun! As such, these three attitudes can also be very helpful when learning a foreign language. Growing up in a rural German setting, as a teenager I was intrigued by other cultures and foreign countries. Youth exchange programs enabled me to cross geographical and cultural boundaries by visiting the USA and Tanzania. I studied to become a social worker and youth pastor and worked as such in South Africa (Johannesburg) and Germany in different urban and rural settings amongst German and English speaking youth. Since 2012 I stay in Durban/ South Africa, which is quite a mixed massala – a melting pot of different African, European, and Indian cultures, which I find very stimulating and exciting. Here I also completed a BA degree in Human Development, which included developmental studies as well as coaching and mentorship as part of its curriculum, taught in a blended learning model. My three boys grow up in a multilingual school setting with 3-4 languages – next to English and German also Afrikaans and isiZulu, which is also the language in which my husband is fluent and uses as his main language at work.

Expertise: I have gained experience in teaching adults German in beginner and intermediate classes – both face to face as well as online. These have always been a well-balanced experience of conversation, grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation – interspersed with information on German culture(s).

Experience: Johanna finished her studies in "Health education" and "Public health" in Germany and lives now in Portugal. She is teaching in the health area for many years and teaching German for two and a half years. For Johanna, the best way to learn and to get a feeling for a language is, if she actually has to talk. So she would (if that is discussed with the students) speak mostly in German and put the effort into the students to speak and to be able to have conversations.

Experience: Julia holds a Master's degree in German Philology and Religious Studies (University of Göttingen, Germany). She also is a certified lecturer for adult education. In addition, she completed various training on German as a foreign language by Goethe Institute and telc. She worked as a free lecturer at university and freelancing in various educational institutes and theatres for many years. For seven years, she has been lived abroad and dedicated mainly to online lessons. Since 2018 she is milengua's headteacher and manages the platform. She loves to study languages herself, and as a mother of trilingual children, she always has been very interested in the latest research about language acquisition.

Experience: More than 20 years of experience in teaching German as a foreign language at language schools and private classes, as well as her main occupation as a translator are Ulrike’s basis for successful teaching of the German language. Ulrike has been living with her family in Spain for many years and thanks to her broad experience and multilingual knowledge, she is in a position to meet the requirements of each student in a vast range of professional and cultural fields. ​ Ulrike’s online lessons are creative and structured and adapted to the requirements of each student by providing a varied and specific teaching program. Learning German with Ulrike is fun! ​

Experience: I cater to the needs of the entire spectrum of learners of German as a foreign or second language, ranging from total beginners (A1) up to advanced speakers (C2). I aim to improve students’ pronunciation and fluency, and their understanding and use of grammar. I am a native speaker and since 2008 certified as a “Teacher of German as a Foreign Language”.
